An Alternate is a performer who shares a lead role with another actor and has scheduled performances where they take on the role. Unlike an understudy, who typically steps in only if needed, an Alternate is planned in advance and has dedicated shows where they will perform as the lead character.
-
For The Hunchback of Notre Dame, we have a few lead roles with Alternates, meaning different actors will bring their unique interpretations to these iconic characters. Each Alternate will have two scheduled performances as the lead role. This allows us to showcase the incredible talent within our cast and give audiences the opportunity to experience different portrayals of these beloved characters.
-
Absolutely! Our Alternates are incredibly talented and have trained just as hard as our principal performers. They bring their own depth, emotion, and nuance to the role, offering a fresh and exciting take on the character. Whether you see the lead or the Alternate, you are guaranteed an unforgettable performance.
-
Seeing The Hunchback of Notre Dame more than once means you get the rare opportunity to witness completely different interpretations of the same role. This adds a new layer of excitement and depth to the production, making each performance a unique experience. If you love musical theatre, this is a fantastic chance to appreciate the versatility and artistry of live performance.
-
There is a performance schedule available below so you can plan your tickets accordingly. Stay tuned to our website and social media for more updates and information about our talented performers!
